Meredith and Jason | Scottish Rite Cathedral, Second Presbyterian

Meredith and JasonWhere to start with this wedding? There were so many amazing elements and most of all FUN people to be with that I honestly don’t know if I can possibly cover it all in a blog post. Jason and Meredith are amazing together! I had the honor of hanging out with them all day in Chicago for their awesome engagement session.Such style and class with these two. We probably shot for 5 hours and could have gone even longer. On their wedding day the moment I pulled into the driveway of Meredith’s parents’ house I felt like I was walking into a scene from “Father of the Bride”. Such amazing flowers and wreaths covered the doorway and beautiful florals were all over the house. It smelled amazing!

Meredith was surrounded by long time friends in her childhood bedroom. Being a military brat we never stayed anywhere long enough for me to make a “childhood” friend let alone stay in the same house. I really appreciate the friendship and “girl time” before a wedding begins. Every detail of Meredith’s home is so charming and timeless and I felt happy watching all these moments happen right where the should-at the beginning of it all. Lori Solomon and her team are amazing. Lori really connects with her brides and truly had so much fun planning every detail with Meredith and her mom.

This was practically three weddings in one day! It had the best of all worlds–a beautiful, classic ceremony, a garden tea reception and then the amazing ballroom feel of the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The food was exquisite as always with Thomas Catering’s amazing dishes. There was even an after party with an entirely different menu, entertainment…just the perfect “parties”! Lots of memories were made and it’s fitting that Meredith and Jason had such an amazing start to the rest of their life! The best part for me was that we had so much fun together Meredith and Jason wanted to do it all again so we put on our clothes and did a “honeymoon” shoot a couple of months later–with their sweet puppy, Griffin. I hope to see you two again soon for dinner, drinks, or whatever! After more than a year of getting to know you and spending so much time together I’m going to have withdrawals:)
Thanks to my amazing daughter, Annie, and Erica for second shooting with me. ciesiolkablog02

The details of Meredith’s dress were so perfect! I love the jacket she had custom made.ciesiolkablog03

At the tea Meredith’s mom had spent weeks preparing. She cooked all the food as well as hand painted all the invitations, place cards and thank you notes.ciesiolkablog13

ciesiolkablog14Meredith and Jason met at a great joint called Usual Suspects in Broad Ripple. So we had to stop by there and take some pictures. Meredith had fun reenacting the first moment they locked eyes.ciesiolkablog15

Details! Details! Flowers! Flowers! I was blown away by how beautiful the Scottish Rite looked. It is definitely one of my favorite venues, but with all the amazing florals that Meredith’s old cheer coach worked to arrange for her the room looked and smelled WOW! What a beautiful gift to her!ciesiolkablog17ciesiolkablog18

Thomas catering has some of the best food in town. I always love their weddings and events because I know everything will taste amazing. LOVE their polenta cakes! Lori does too, think we ate our feelings in polenta at this wedding…happy feelings :) ciesiolkablog21

One of the best parties I’ve ever been to! I could post a LOT more pictures from this half of the night. Zanna Doo was amazing as usual and then the after party with DJ Indiana Jones was so very 90’s and hip! It rained money from the balcony. I felt like I was in high school again, so fun!ciesiolkablog23
