I first met Genie at Laci and Brandon’s wedding and secretly hoped that someday I would be the one to capture her wedding day. I had so much fun with Laci’s wedding party and couldn’t help but notice how close she is with her friends from Butler. They take trips together, keep in touch regularly and continue to WORK at their friendship even now that college is over. Genie and Scott have dated for a very long time. The toasts and stories at their reception were full of laughs and tears. I’m so glad Scott and Genie had the most perfect day to celebrate their love. We had a little weather drama, but of course, the skies stayed clear until after the outside ceremony! The staff at The Sanctuary was phenomenal and the florals by Linda Batker were amazing! I have to mention that Scott and his business partner, Christopher, are yet again the featured builder for the Homes of Distinction this year at my favorite neighborhood, Lost Run Farms.
MUA and hair team: Kiralee
Venue: The Sanctuary, Ceremony Lincoln Park

It was a great honor to share in Katie and Brian’s wedding. Because their wedding is going to be featured I can’t share many images, but here is a sneak peek. I’ll post a list of their wedding professionals as well as more images once the magazines have what they need. J Scot Reid was their planner and did a fabulous job coordinating everything and everyone! Katie and Brian are going to have the cutest kids EVER someday. They compliment each other perfectly and are two of the most adorable personalities I have ever spent time with. Just love them! Thank you so much for having me as part of your wedding day. It truly was an honor!

I was so excited when Jackie from Ten Thirteen Design came to me for her product photography. I love all things pretty and have an obsession with paper products. Invitations, labels, ribbons and sparkly really catch my eye. We both had the same vision, which worked really well. If you need invitations or paper products of any kind, Jackie is a great person to work with. She is patient and genuinely loves what she does. Thanks, Jackie! Love the new site!

With the kids out of school and wedding season in full swing we are in photo heaven at JDP. I have so many shoots to share, but here is a teaser of a bridal shoot I had today with the lovely Lisa Hiers and her talented stylist sister, Dawne Swain. Look forward to seeing some amazing wedding invitations by Jackie Bilskie as well as tons of family sessions and weddings in the next few days.

As a photographer I really connect with my clients and enjoy looking back on their images. Lee and Ashley are really special to me. They somehow found each other all the way across the globe. Ashley has now moved to Australia and has settled into life as an Aussie. She even has an accent now! I just found this image the other day and it made me smile. Their wedding was in her grandparent’s backyard with signage that Ashley used when she was a little girl pretending to own a horse farm. I think I’ll make a slideshow from this wedding to share as it has been a few years. Looking at anything sunny right now is nice, right? Ok, just one for now! I’m off to pick out flooring for the new studio. Nothing more fun than decorating a space, especially one that isn’t my home:)

As I look back on 2009 and begin to freshen up the website and prepare for the many wonderful weddings we have booked for 2010 I can’t help but share once again one of my favorite weddings, Maggie and Hunter. I loved the style of this wedding and Hunter serenading Maggie and her guests is a moment I will never forget! Soon we will post the best of 2009 as we look forward to another amazing year of amazing couples. I am so thankful you share your love and one of the most important days of your life! Thank you!

It was so fun capturing Megan in the studio despite bad weather. She brought in her wedding gown and looked amazing! It was great to see you, Megan. I hope you and Ben had a perfect day! I can’t wait to hear about it.

Wedding season is in full swing here at JDP! I took two weekends off mid-August and am excited to get back at it this weekend. It is such a fantastic thing to share the happiest day ever with two people in love and capture them looking their best! As I was going through images for inspiration last night I came across these. Have a great weekend everyone! Yay sun!

I love this image. See how Michelle is looking up at him? This was one of the most intimate and moving ceremonies ever.

Scott and his best man. Scott was so fun!
This next set of images is an engagement session shot in New Orleans down in the French Quarter. Just love Hector and Beth!!

Thank you so much, Jen! You really made my work shine!
