I had the honor of working with Mary and Shawn this past January. I knew from the moment I met Mary I was going to LOVE her, but when I saw her with Shawn I liked her even more. They are two of the happiest people I’ve ever met. So very in love and so very true to themselves and each other. Mary is the type of woman that appreciates the little things and doesn’t stress at all over big things. Mary and Shawn have their priorities set for family first and I love that about them. Shawn is ever the Texas gentleman!! What a dreamy couple they are together. Everything about this wedding was so thoughtful. It was planned by the talented David Jackson of Premiere Events so all of the details were perfection.

It’s always fun to be part of a rehearsal! Mary and Shawn had so many friends and family attend their rehearsal it was like a mini wedding. The thoughtful menu and decor planned by Shawn’s mom expressed his Brazilian heritage.

I’m not sure where to begin with Jordyn and Matt. Their relationship is so strong and I truly believe there was never any doubt they would spend the rest of their lives together. Together they are complete. I think without each other they would be very different people and a little lost. Some relationships are just meant to be and necessary in life– that’s Jordyn and Matt. I had the honor of spending five wonderful years with Jordyn in my studio. We worked hard to build what is now a beautiful place for memories and I can’t believe I’m just now sitting down to share their special wedding day. We get so busy in the studio that sometimes we neglect our personal projects and 2013 is going to be a year where I share more personal stories and moments with everyone and this day, this very special day in May almost three years ago, is definitely worth sharing. Not only are the beautiful details Jordyn and her mom chose beautiful and inspiring to future brides, but the tenderness and genuine honesty in the vows and joy shared are what weddings are all about. Enjoy. It certainly has been a wonderful morning for me reliving this truly happy day. Jordyn and Matt–I wish you the rest of your life (yes, singular) together much happiness, growth, adventure and love.

Venue: New Harmony, IN One of my most favorite places on earth.
Dress: Monique Lhuillier
Guest Accomodations: New Harmony InnMatt’s note to Jordyn on a napkin the morning of their wedding was one of my most favorite love letters of all time!As you can see above, it’s all in the details! Jordyn spent almost a year collecting handkerchiefs from antique stores. One of my favorite details of her day and a beautiful keepsake for her guests.

Jordyn and Matt had some of the prettiest paper products I’ve ever seen. So much thought went into the design and even the stamps.

I was so happy to share in Ashley and Mark’s day. Ashley was such a trooper having planned her wedding from Indy to be in Chicago. We all had hoped for good weather, but we did have rain (lots of good luck!). Didn’t stop this fun group for toughing it out. We had a lot of adventures. One of my favorite parts of this wedding was the handmade photo booth and all the amazing elements Ashley’s mom created for the reception. It really made the day special. Ashley turned out to be a VERY fun bride with awesome friends. She and Mark are just perfect for each other. Congratulations and thank you so much for letting Erica and I share in your day!

I am SO excited to be working with Meredith and Jason. They have such great style and LOVE pictures as much as I do. It was surreal walking Chicago with two beautiful people and absolutely perfect weather! I love that city even on a rainy day, but with the day we had it was unbelievable for shooting. These two are so romantic…their wedding day is going to be so unbelievable. They plan on having a “tea” in between ceremony and reception, which sounds so sweet. I’m picturing an english garden with roses and sheer fabric tenting with water fountains and loads of flowers everywhere…spring/summer can’t come soon enough!

Amy and David….oh my! I first met Amy at Erin and Nate’s wedding a couple of years ago and she was by far the most FUN bridesmaid I had ever met and so incredibly gorgeous. I secretly hoped she would call me when it was her time to tie the knot! I think I remember some cartwheels happening after I got a phone call from her. They are so cute together!! I will be posting their gorgeous fall wedding very soon. For now enjoy this super fun engagement session!

Imagine planning a wedding from another state. Despite both Leah and her mom living outside of Indiana they did such an amazing job putting together Leah and Justin’s special day! I know how difficult it can be to coordinate everything, but the day was really fun and very well-organized. Leah and Justin are very sweet together and they have a GREAT group of friends that shared the day with them. There were many details I was in love with, but most of all a family heirloom necklace that Leah wore was like something out of a magazine. How thoughtful a family to make sure such a special piece is carefully delivered for each wedding. Check out how beautiful it is! There were a lot of people that made this day happen. I think the key to having a successful wedding is selecting amazing wedding professionals to share in your day.

Working with Jessie and Stefan was such a dream. Not only are they incredibly beautiful together, but their hearts are just as pretty. It’s been a pretty busy two years for these two. Jessie is in medical school so planning a wedding was a lot to add to her already busy schedule. Thankfully they had Monica Richard to help them through the process! This wedding was full of sentimental details!

There were certainly a lot of unusual events that made this wedding extra memorable. Stefan’s brother shattered his pelvis just days before the wedding riding on a skateboard. Amazingly enough, he DID walk down the aisle and fulfill his duty as a groomsmen! That’s an iron man right there! For those of us who were there we know the other memorable moments that will forever bond us:) Thankfully we had an awesome team of wedding professionals and a great staff at the Conrad to make sure everything flowed as planned. Good planning and a great planner really pays off! Monica did a beautiful job, as usual.

I remember feeling kind of sad that it was very rainy that day because normally we would go out onto the roof of the Conrad (Mr. and Mrs. Kite are so generous) and get some great shots, but we had to stay in because of the torrential downpour. Later in the evening the skies cleared and Jessie and Stefan danced in the street. We had quite a crowd surrounding them and people walking by in amazement at how beautiful these two are together:) It really didn’t matter that it rained because the ceremony and reception were so gorgeous we could have stayed inside taking pictures forever!

The reception was quite the party! Everyone had a great time and Jessie changed into a fabulous Vera Wang dress and yet another pair of Jimmy Choo’s for the festivities. Nothing like a spontaneous Vera Wang purchase! In memory of Jessie’s father everyone gathered to take a taste of his favorite whiskey and dance. It was a very touching moment for everyone. Candles surrounded the dance floor, it was magical. The Neighborhood Pizza truck was there with Stefan’s father, David, as a special chef. Family traditions! The pizza was wonderful! Thank you everyone for sharing this day with me! It was great to work with friends and get to know such a wonderful family. There is so much more I can say about this day and this couple, but let’s let the images tell the rest of the story.
