Reis Nichols
People know how much I love working with Reis Nichols. This weekend I am honored to be part of their very special engagement ring event. Not only is this a great opportunity to consider getting an engagement ring, but heirloom jewelry for any occasion! Be sure to join us for some great food and lots of “shiny objects”:) We would love to see you. The event is on Friday and Saturday of this weekend.

Gus
Augustus. Imagine a baby with an earache, cold and having made a trip to the doc that morning. You wouldn’t think he would be smiling, right? What an amazing little boy. His smile warms the heart! Just love Gus! Can’t wait to see him again soon.

Two of a kind
I LOVE watching families grow, especially when I was there to witness and capture a couple’s wedding day. Brandy and Brittney are twins (duh) and are very close to their family. I was fortunate enough to spend time with them capturing Brandy’s wedding day on their family farm. Now they live within miles of each other and just like their mom, both girls are teachers. It is really great that both of them got pregnant really close together and now Jenny has TWO grandchildren to enjoy. She has a hard time not stopping by each of their homes every evening to resist the cuteness. During this shoot there was a LOT of poop. I have been a baby photographer for a long time, but this was the most amount of poop I have ever had in the studio at once. It was so fun! I was covered and so was Brandy by the end of the session. Brandy said, “I can smell myself!”. It was gross, I’ll admit, but the babies are so sweet you can’t imagine that coming out of them. So here they are!

Rae Ann and Jeremy Trueblood
You know a wedding is a good one when you can’t post it all at once. Part I includes some of my favorite moments from the beginning of the wedding day up until Jeremy and Rae Ann first saw each other. Having a wedding at Bellagio is definitely first class. Jeremy plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and so his schedule gets pretty crazy before and during football season. Getting married in Vegas in February was the perfect choice for them!
A testament to their love and friendship is that all 14 of their wedding party members made it to Vegas. Many were coming from the east coast (Washington D.C.) which had been hit HARD with snow and most flights were completely canceled so their ever adoring friends DROVE to New Hampshire as well as other states to catch flights out to Vegas. The morning of the wedding friends were still arriving! I think they win an award for the most beautiful wedding party. One of my favorite images ever is the one with Ashley, MOH, fixing Rae’s dress. Ashley, you win the prize for being the bestest, most selfless maid of honor! I think you would have walked across hot coals if it would make Rae’s day better! I have one missing image here, the picture of all the bridesmaids standing in front of Rae so Jeremy wouldn’t see her and then they walk away and there is his bride…All of the bridesmaids were amazingly gorgeous and the boys all had their shining GQ moments, but more on that later. For now here are some images with more to follow as well as the fun story of their vows.

Amelia
It was a happy and sad session with Amelia, Dan and Traci today. Dan and Traci are moving to Switzerland for a year or more. They are very excited about this and so am I! What a great opportunity for them to live in Europe and experience a new culture. I envy you guys! Maybe I’ll visit:) So this is my last shoot with Amelia until August. I’m looking forward to keeping up with the “Wests” as they move “East”. Can’t wait to see what adventures you have and I’m excited for you to return and Amelia can tell me all about it…in Swiss, of course.

I <3 Traveling–my childhood photographs
Being a Navy Brat I absolutely LOVE to travel! Since marrying and settling down here in the great state of Indiana I now have a more permanent “homestead”. One of the things I love about my job is that I get just enough travel to make life interesting. I leave tomorrow for Vegas to shoot a wedding for two very special people and seeing as how our Colts didn’t bring home the bacon I want to move that post on down the line (sounding very southern here…did live in NC for quite a while). Not too long ago my parents gave me the gift of all the slides from my childhood. My father is quite a fantastic photographer as well as a surgeon and our travels were well-documented. We lived in the Philippines for the first six year of my life. I graduated from Kindergarten there! I have many memories and looking at these images I thought I would share. I don’t often put up personal pictures, but this year I might do a little more of that. Memories are after all what I love to capture–and that includes my own family. Mom and Dad, I’m so glad we found each other. I couldn’t have asked for a richer life.
I like for images to be honest and true so I did not manipulate any of these images. These came right out of my father’s pentax camera, which he used to use for capturing before and after pictures of surgery as well as whatever art he chose to create with landscapes and family. I know some are blurry, but I love my mother’s smile. Funny, now that I am married I can appreciate the smiles and moments between my parents. I hope our kids will look back on our adventures and feel the same sense of pride I feel for my parents and their dedication to working at marriage and appreciating each other.

Robyn,
Glad to know I’m not boring everyone with family photos:) They are fun images! I can taste the coconut and smell the fish market just looking at these. My first memory of Christmas was in the Philippines. It was magic. Can’t wait to find the pics of my brother, Bill, eating mud:)
Hope you and Bernie are well! WE miss you guys!

GO COLTS BEAT THE SAINTS
We are big COLTS fans and honestly, even if we didn’t live in the greater Indianapolis area we would probably still be wearing blue. I can’t tell you how excited the Driscoll house is that we are going to SUPERBOWL AGAIN! We have the most amazing team full of great players who not only are generous people, but truly some of the most dedicated and amazing athletes. My favorite player of all time is GARY BRACKETT. I had the honor of photographing him last summer for a United Way project. He is so cerebral and has such a great attitude towards the game and life. GO COLTS GO COLTS GO COLTS!!! As you see, many of our clients are excited about the game as well.
