Geno also helped capture some candid moments, but for now I am going to share only the details of this wonderful event by David Jackson.

Winter Sessions
I know it is cold and dreary outside, but why can’t family portrait seasons be in the winter? I had the brave Winslow family visit me this winter season. I’d love to get one more really big snow and take a family dressed all in red out to this perfect spot that I know with big snow covered trees and hills with not a house or building in site. So if you are thinking you have to wait to schedule, reconsider! Snow can be fun!

Lee & Ashley
As a photographer I really connect with my clients and enjoy looking back on their images. Lee and Ashley are really special to me. They somehow found each other all the way across the globe. Ashley has now moved to Australia and has settled into life as an Aussie. She even has an accent now! I just found this image the other day and it made me smile. Their wedding was in her grandparent’s backyard with signage that Ashley used when she was a little girl pretending to own a horse farm. I think I’ll make a slideshow from this wedding to share as it has been a few years. Looking at anything sunny right now is nice, right? Ok, just one for now! I’m off to pick out flooring for the new studio. Nothing more fun than decorating a space, especially one that isn’t my home:)

Baby Phoebe
It is always a pleasure playing with newborns! Phoebe was so good, but it was a perk that little Maddox joined in on the fun. What an adorable family! Oh and I did get peed on:)

Ashley and Sean
What a special way to spend the start of the New Year with Ashley, Sean and their amazing family and friends. What a gracious couple they are together. The ceremony was beautiful at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral downtown and I loved that they left the lights dim for a great mood. When I first met them at the Columbia Club a year ago I remember thinking how gorgeous Ashley’s mom is and the two of them together, wow! Well, bring Ashley’s little sister Alli into the mix and it is way too much beauty in one room! Ashley and Sean had the same celibrant as Ashley’s parents 30 years ago, Msgr. Schaedel from Holy Rosary Parish. Jim Cerone was the emcee for the evening so it was a spectacular party!! I think there is no secret I only recommend him as he is the best in town. As always it was a pleasure working with A.J. at the Columbia Club. I am so proud of another awesome job as my assistant Annie did. It was awesome for me to have my daughter with me. Thanks Annie, your artistry is refreshing. Congratulations Sean and Ashley.
Some extras I love:

Here are a few more of just Annie’s images. Great job and use of off camera lighting!!

Love this one with the slight blur!

Mom's look on her face is precious. Such a proud day. Someday that will be me...(tears coming)

great light!

love the mood of this one!

Joan and Gregory
All the way from Boston and San Francisco these two traveled for their engagement session. We made the best of a very slushy and gray day. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in May. They are such a handsome couple!

Memory Lane
So it is really early in the morning and I have been hard at work backing up images. Scrolling through some old folders I found some images from long ago that I really love. Thanks to all of you who have entrusted me to capture your families, your babies, your profession, your grandmother (yes, isn’t that a nice portrait gift to give!) and of course your amazing weddings. I am feeling so full of joy as I glance back over the years. See if you can guess which images are worked by hand in the darkroom (hint, I like to push film a lot). Look for new updates and blog posts on all the things that have kept us busy this month. 2009 was so fantastic and 2010 had a great start with Ashley and Sean’s wedding (soon to come).

Looking Forward to 2010 Weddings
As I look back on 2009 and begin to freshen up the website and prepare for the many wonderful weddings we have booked for 2010 I can’t help but share once again one of my favorite weddings, Maggie and Hunter. I loved the style of this wedding and Hunter serenading Maggie and her guests is a moment I will never forget! Soon we will post the best of 2009 as we look forward to another amazing year of amazing couples. I am so thankful you share your love and one of the most important days of your life! Thank you!

This was a “had to be there” kind of event – so hard to do it justice with photos and video. But we’ll try, and yours look awesome!
Very good and so colourfull photos and details!
