Grand Cayman

It was an amazing week in the Grand Cayman.  I was thrilled to spend time with some of my favorite people in the industry.  Here are a few images from this amazing adventure.  If any of you have the budget to fly out to Manhattan and select a dress from Kleinfeld’s let me know.  Randy Fenoli will open the store after hours and personally help fit you.  Randy was so much fun!  He has inspired me to trash everything in my closet and start paying more attention to my wardrobe.  I really need help!  If I were a bride again and had the means I would be on a flight to NY first thing!  Randy doesn’t care about “selling” a dress.  He loves helping women feel beautiful and selecting the right dress for them no matter what size they are.  He really impressed me and as you might guess he was dressed impeccably at all times.  Michael Landry of Gucci was present as well.  I really should have gone shopping before heading out to Grand Cayman:) Grand Cayman would make an idea spot for a honeymoon.  Talk to me about our experience, it was wonderful.img_3503-copy

Katherine, Kate…so sophisticated for such a little person!  It was fun to photograph a child just being a child in her own environment.  She reminds me of how I was as a child-full of energy and spunk!blog_moffit-10untitled-11blog_moffit-3blog_moffit-8blog_moffit-12

I have to smile as I know Rebecca and Clint thoroughly enjoyed their honeymoon in Maui.  I know because they sent awesome pictures!  I am currently in Grand Cayman and the beaches and weather here is much the same.  It is fun to look back on their day!  Rebecca and Clint, I hope Maui was everything you had hoped and getting settled into your new house is a fun task as you begin your life together.  Your family is amazing and I thank you so much for having me as part of your day!

I love this one!

Second Honeymoon

Posted by jennifer in Travels, Uncategorized, Wedding on June 21st, 2009 No Comments »

Or maybe it is our first.  We have been married for 16+ years and never really did get a “honeymoon”.  So I have a little “work” to do in the Cayman Islands and decided to drag John with me.  We landed earlier today and it is HEAVEN here.  I am very excited about:

splashHere are some of the amazing people I will be networking with this week:

Darcy Miller – {Martha Stewart Weddings}
Preston Bailey – {Preston Bailey Designs}
Marcy Blum – {Eventiste}
Sylvia Weinstock – {Sylvia Weinstock Cakes}
Millie Martini Bratten – {BRIDE’S Magazine}
Antonia van der Meer – {Modern Bride & Elegant Bride Magazines}
Susan Moynihan – {Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine}
Lara Casey – Southern Weddings Magazine!  WOOHOO!
Michelle Rago – {Michelle Rago, LTD}
Randy Fenoli - {Kleinfeld Bridal} and {”Say Yes to the Dress”}
Sean Low – {Preston Bailey Designs}
Harmony Walton – {The Bridal Bar}
Abby Larson – {Style Me Pretty}
Laura Novak – {Laura Novak Photography}
Liene Stevens – {Think Splendid}
Alison Hotchkiss – {alison events llc}
Thayer Allyson Gowdy - {Thayer Photo}
Joanne Brown – {Celebrations LTD}
Simon T. Bailey -{“Release Your Brilliance”}
Rebecca Grinnals & Kathryn Arce– {Engaging Concepts}

So as we got off the plane John wrestled with the many bags I packed and we headed up to the room after registering.  With engage 09 we are pampered from head to toe and I was given a beautiful gift bag packed with goodies.  I was going through this as the bell boy was bringing up the bags and as I got deeper in the bag John started acting weird insisting I come and watch for the bell boy.  As the bags were brought in he told the man, “Be careful with the bag, the kids are in there.”.  Haha, my husband is quick witted and always has one ready.  I thought this was weird behavior and went right back to unloading the goodies and then there was a Reis Nichols box in there with this amazing diamond ring I had been looking at…it took me a minute to figure it out, but once I did-wow!  So here we are now on our honeymoon and I finally have a ring I LOVE.  I’ll post a picture soon.  Now it is off to enjoy time with my friends who happen to be some of the top wedding professionals in the world.

Jordyn is in the studio this week to answer any questions, book shoots and schedule sessions or portrait appointments.  I will be checking e-mail in the evenings.  Have a great week!

Jennifer

    Hey Alice! I’ll post a picture of it soon. I used my “real” camera to shoot it and that requires a bit of editing so as soon as I am done para-sailing:)))) We are doing that today. I love this vacation!

Ayden and Flynn

I have had the pleasure of watching these two grow. Many of you may already be familiar with Ayden and Flynn!  We always have fun together and it was a special treat to get to play outside in natural light.  I LOVE this family.  We have grown pretty close over the years and Tawnya has got to be one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever met.  I love my customers!  It is the joy of watching families grow as well as the friendships I make that are most rewarding.  Lucky girl I am!  Thanks to Ayden and Flynn for getting crazy with me!  You two are so much fun.  Next time the Wiggles are in town I want to go:)  Love, “Miss Jennifer”.  P.S. if Ayden can read (and I know Tawnya probably has him reading Harry Potter by now) that is for you!  Miss Jennifer loves you both.hornsby_s09-103-10hornsby_s09-131-12hornsby_s09-134-14hornsby_s09-132-13hornsby_s09-84-9

Jordyn has been jamming both in and out of the studio!  A couple of weeks ago she had an engagement shoot with the ever adorable Amanda and Caleb at the IMA.  Their wedding is at my favorite location, West Baden.  Here are some of her awesome images!  Love the first with their adorable King Charles Cavalier, “Bentley”.  Congratulations Amanda and Caleb!  jansing022-16jansing044-17jansing156-copy-26jansing174-29

Yet another beautifully designed save-the-date.  Remember we offer cards of all types at a great price for any occasion.  This one is pretty special, I think.  Love Holly and Zach!!  Jordyn will have the pleasure of shooting their wedding this fall and I get to have a “day after” session with them, which I am so excited about.  Love this shot Jordyn took and think it works perfectly with the design she made.  Ask us how adorable we can make your save-the-dates.  Great way to get guests excited with anticipation!holly_front1-copyholly_front2-copy

Chicago-Adam and Marina

Posted by jennifer in Engagement on June 15th, 2009 No Comments »

It was really fun to get away from my usual surroundings and spend a day getting to know Adam and Marina.  We walked all OVER Chicago for 7 hours.  We had a wonderful lunch at the Grand Lux and then hit the streets for some great times.  I am really looking forward to their wedding in Notre Dame this November. It is going to be a gorgeous ceremony and we have so much in common!  I felt like I was with old friends.  Marina and Adam, thank you so much for being great hosts in your great city!  I can’t wait to see you both again.edits_aburto-10We did the bean…tried not to be too cliche, Adam!edits_aburto-44bedits_aburto-36edits_aburto-4
edits_aburto-24cI just love these two together!  Maybe I am a bit emotional lately (cried at this Saturday’s wedding like FIVE times!), but I smile inside just looking at them together.  They have quite a love story and their families are just as in love with each other, which makes it all that much more special.edits_aburto-16edits_aburto-12211edits_aburto-56edits_aburto-3931The picture below was taken for my friend, Jon Wilkerson.  If any of you know him (or his beautiful wife Cathy) you know how much he looks like this guy and how he should be getting royalties!edits_aburto-50Marina makes my headband look good.  Better on her than on me!  Oh to be young again:)edits_aburto-51edits_aburto-21
