Ashley + Sean
New Year’s Eve 2009 is going to be GREAT with Ashley and Sean. I am so excited to spend the day with them and their wonderful family. We went to the IMA for their engagement session recently and I got to know Sean a little bit better. Aren’t they so adorable together? Ashley’s eyes are WOW and Sean’s dimples make you smile. I really love these two. We finished the session and then both started to drive away and realized we forgot to take pictures in front of the famous LOVE statue by Robert Indiana. Glad we caught it!

Loretta & Larry-50 years of marriage
Jordyn’s grandparents were in the studio for a shoot today. Jordyn took pictures of them for their 50th anniversary. What an amazing thing it is that two people can be so genuinely in love for 50 + years. They married at 18 and 19 years old on a Navy base and have no wedding pictures. Isn’t it funny how much in love they were to just want to be married and enjoy every second together…no planning a big wedding, no pictures even (yikes!!)!
They have had quite the life together. Lawrence and Loretta Jabaai were married on June 9, 1959 and had three daughters (just like me!). Lori, Lisa and Leslie. Leslie died in a car accident at age 17. All they have been through together and each day they get up and enjoy every minute TOGETHER. Survivors and full of life. I hope you have many years together
Their rings they bought on their vacation they took last year to Yellowstone National Park, 3 diamonds for the 3 girls.
Jordyn says they do everything together. Ever since she is a child she remembers them always holding hands and they still do today. They inspire me! Loretta’s personality sparkles and Larry clearly adores her. Happy Anniversary to you Loretta and Larry! Great job as usual, Jordyn. I know this shoot was an emotional one for you:)

Do you outsource your graphic work for your website? I like them and would be interested in knowing who did yours! I’m in the process of designing my template for my new blog but having a hard time. Looking to pay someone to help.

Jordyn + Matt Engaged
Many of you already know that my studio manager, Jordyn, is engaged to her boyfriend, Matt. I am honored to share in their wedding day next May down in New Harmony. It is going to be a very special weekend! Jordyn and I have the same taste so I know I am going to love every detail and most especially spending time with their families. Matt and Jordyn joined me for an engagement session recently.

Laura + Paul
The weather report was calling for nothing but rain, but Paul and Laura’s day was full of love and sunshine. We had so much fun with these two families and all of their friends. I thought it was a very special mass. Paul’s Uncle was the priest to marry them-John and I had my Uncle marry us as well-a very special touch:) Lisa Gorman of Memory Makers and her awesome staff did a great job planning this wonderful day! Kiralee did a wonderful job making mother and daughter gorgeous (as usual!). I love a makeup artist that brings a light! Congratulations Laura and Paul! I hope the honeymoon was incredible and relaxing.

Wow! Very nice shots here. Lovely light in that doorway! Excellent posing throughout.
And the women sitting at the table, I love how the one woman is looking over at you. Nice to see that I’m not the only one who gets those kind of looks when taking photos.

New Beginning
Today was a very special day at JDP. The existing structure on our property was completely removed. I have been waiting for many years to see this happen and watching it all come down in less than 15 minutes was amazing. We now have a “clean slate” on which to build our dream studio.

J & J
This project is possible because of many special companies and people. Pete Gray of Executive Homes built our family home 5 years ago and we wouldn’t dream of working with another builder so look forward to him leading the construction. He has been hard at work getting permits and harnessing our excitement into an actual design. Your brilliance will shine, Pete! Phil Paul of FinalGradeX…well, Phil could have removed this house by hand. He showed up in his hummer with a chainsaw and I still thought he would be done by the end of the day. Strong, kind and one of the most professional people we have ever encountered we were sure he would get the job done right. Taking the house down was an important step in this process as I wanted a GREAT start and to get it done fast so the community wasn’t terribly inconvenienced by our mess. Quite simply, Phil rocks.

Ameriana Bank came through during these tough times to complete the loan process. Many banks tried and it was a frustrating process until Derek Jones of Ameriana made things happen quick and painlessly. I love Ameriana. They hired me for some commercial work a few months before we even considered them for a loan and working with them from two different perspectives has shown me how dedicated they are to serving this Fishers community with a personal touch.
Jordyn, I can’t say enough about this wonderful young lady. In the past few months as my creative director, associate photographer and friend, Jordyn has put up with my craziness. It took a lot to get here and life has been a bit crazy with the start of wedding season on top of planning the construction. We have had some struggles and I am looking forward to this positive direction!
John…we have been together for over 17 years now and if you had told me back then this is where we would be…I would have been excited! I am glad it took this long because we both appreciate this so very much. Thank you for your support and for believing in me. I know sometimes I drive you crazy with my passion for making people smile and preserving memories. Thank you for loving me as I am.

Pizza Hut Delivers
Pizza Hut delivered this in the middle of Olio Road last week on that blustery day. It was either run it over or hit a cyclist. I ran it over…wonder if they want it back. My husband had to come and save me. It was wedged under my car. Not fun!

Jenny and Drew
I met Jenny over a year ago in February. I LOVED her the minute she walked in the door and could tell how in love with Drew she is. She waited for her soldier to return. A patient and dedicated bride. Watching these two had me tearing up a bit all day. Jenny is so thoughtful. She wore the cami I gave her with the old logo on it…on her wedding day! That was so sweet. I was touched to see how much she wanted me to be part of their day. Karen Hall and Co. did a wonderful job with makeup and the talented Jim Cerone was their wedding entertainment director.
The love between these two isn’t something found everyday. You two are most deserving of each other!! You will have many years of happiness! Thank you so much for sharing your day with me!

Congratulations to Stephanie and Kevin! Jordyn had the pleasure of spending the day with these two and their fabulous wedding party. She did an awesome job as usual! I love the shots they took at the park in Carmel. So lucky the rain stopped for both our couples! What a fresh and fun wedding. Jordyn was a perfect match for them! Here are some of her fantastic images.

Summer Horse Camp
All you parents out there that want an educational and awesome camp IN FISHERS to send your kids to check out www.summerhorsecamp-fishers.com. These two wonderful and responsible girls have put together an awesome opportunity for our children to enjoy a week of crafts, swimming and horse lessons in a safe and comfortable environment. Selfishly, I am pushing for registration the week of June 21. They might have to cancel camp if we don’t get more attendees, which would be so sad!! The farm is located at 126th and Olio. Let’s fill this camp up for Audrie and Bailey!! Audrie is a freshman majoring in business at IU and Bailey is a Jr. at University HS and a certified lifeguard.
A picture of a horse…won an award a few years ago for this one. T-max BW film for those of you who remember what that is.
My children who need to attend horse camp and this is an old picture from about 4 years ago. My how they have changed!

We had a great response to our Mother’s Day special and have actually already photographed some beautiful families! Here is John Steinkamp with his daughter, Jordan. This was actually for an ad and THANK YOU John for the amazing bottles of wine you dropped off. That was so kind of you–we love nice people.
