Grand Cayman
It was an amazing week in the Grand Cayman. I was thrilled to spend time with some of my favorite people in the industry. Here are a few images from this amazing adventure. If any of you have the budget to fly out to Manhattan and select a dress from Kleinfeld’s let me know. Randy Fenoli will open the store after hours and personally help fit you. Randy was so much fun! He has inspired me to trash everything in my closet and start paying more attention to my wardrobe. I really need help! If I were a bride again and had the means I would be on a flight to NY first thing! Randy doesn’t care about “selling” a dress. He loves helping women feel beautiful and selecting the right dress for them no matter what size they are. He really impressed me and as you might guess he was dressed impeccably at all times. Michael Landry of Gucci was present as well. I really should have gone shopping before heading out to Grand Cayman:) Grand Cayman would make an idea spot for a honeymoon. Talk to me about our experience, it was wonderful.

Parasailing

This is what they did to our bed each night. A visit from the “Swan” lady. She was so kind.

Swimming with Stingrays
It was an amazing experience! I am headed to dinner so don’t much time. Here are a few images from today! Angela Talley was with me-she took the images of John and I. Thanks, Angela! These were taken with the new canon powershot D10. It goes 33 feet underwater! Love it!

Second Honeymoon
Or maybe it is our first. We have been married for 16+ years and never really did get a “honeymoon”. So I have a little “work” to do in the Cayman Islands and decided to drag John with me. We landed earlier today and it is HEAVEN here. I am very excited about:

Rebecca Grinnals & Kathryn Arce– {Engaging Concepts}
So as we got off the plane John wrestled with the many bags I packed and we headed up to the room after registering. With engage 09 we are pampered from head to toe and I was given a beautiful gift bag packed with goodies. I was going through this as the bell boy was bringing up the bags and as I got deeper in the bag John started acting weird insisting I come and watch for the bell boy. As the bags were brought in he told the man, “Be careful with the bag, the kids are in there.”. Haha, my husband is quick witted and always has one ready. I thought this was weird behavior and went right back to unloading the goodies and then there was a Reis Nichols box in there with this amazing diamond ring I had been looking at…it took me a minute to figure it out, but once I did-wow! So here we are now on our honeymoon and I finally have a ring I LOVE. I’ll post a picture soon. Now it is off to enjoy time with my friends who happen to be some of the top wedding professionals in the world.
Jordyn is in the studio this week to answer any questions, book shoots and schedule sessions or portrait appointments. I will be checking e-mail in the evenings. Have a great week!

Hey Alice! I’ll post a picture of it soon. I used my “real” camera to shoot it and that requires a bit of editing so as soon as I am done para-sailing:)))) We are doing that today. I love this vacation!

Hoaglin Catering
Some of you may know I am a huge fan of culinary photography. I drool over my issues of Cooking Light magazine each month and love the challenge of working with food. The colors, the lighting, the creativity that you can have with food is endless. Rob Hoaglin owns of the finest catering companies in Indiana, Hoaglin catering. Fresh and innovative food that awakens your senses, not your typical event food at all. Here are some of the images I captured today with Rob acting as food stylist. His chief chef, Sully, did a wonderful job of preparing the dishes. What a delight! If you are looking for wonderful food for that first meal as a married couple please give Rob and his friendly staff a call. Visit their studio in the Stutz building, it is a wonder in itself!

Thank you, Rob! You and Jason were wonderful to work with.

Little Vizslas
We closed the studio for two weeks and I headed up to Wisconsin to visit family until January 6. It was wonderful seeing everyone. My parents recently had a new addition to the family- Fr. Al! Fr. Al has been a family friend for years. He and my father grew up together in Michigan. He is in his 70’s now and his health is not so great and when my parents learned he had been put in a nursing home they decided to bring him home to live with them. So off my father went to pick Fr. Al up from Pennsylvannia and make the trip back to Green Bay. With Fr. Al came his altar and all his vestments, a tabernacle for the host…we actually have a chapel in my parent’s house! My girls couldn’t get over going to church in their socks. What wonderful intimate services we had while visiting. Here is Annie with Fr. Al and Papa.
My father and I visited Timmy’s grave together. It has been 3 years since Timmy died in a car accident on New Year’s Eve and we miss him so very much. I feel blessed to have had his bright soul in my life and I can still feel him here with me. His site is peaceful. I did manage to lock my keys in the car and my parents live way out in the wilderness so Dad and I sat in the church and learned a little bit about the history of their parish. Pretty neat Suamico was a big logging town and the people built the church!

Dad visits Timmy everyday.

Thank heavens for the locksmith.
We went to visit our dear friends, the Freemans. Belinda and Dave are breeders and recently their dog, Sugar, gave birth to a litter of Vizslas. Oh what cute little guys these are!

They are less than a week old here and I was in their basement shooting in a very tiny space, but we had fun. The girls loved holding the puppies and smelling their sweet breath. They still can’t see or hear in this picture. Sugar is a wonderful mom.
I have been quite busy shooting since returning and can’t wait to post some of the sessions. Hopefully later today I’ll steal some images from Jordyn and get things posted. 2009 is going to be a great year! Thank you to all of you who make this possible. We hope to continue to enrich your lives with artistic memories and capture your smiles.

I bet your Dad and Father Al can tell some stories. Very cool about your Dad picking him up and bringing him to their house.

This images are wonderful. Still no ring shot so I suppose I’ll need to take you to lunch and see it in person!
I pretty much love Say Yes to the Dress even though I am done being the bride! I also love these shots….looks like an amazing place:)
Hey Girls!
Ok, sorry for the ring shot taking so long. Can’t get the darn thing off my finger:))) I’ll shoot it today at some point if I have time.
I LOVE these pictures. You are a true artist. Thanks for sharing them and it was so amazing to meet you!
