Sara and Derek turned a rainy and cold March day into something really special. There were so many tender moments! I think the pictures tell more of their story than words:) The fun really started when Sara got a note from Derek saying that he was trying to learn to tie a tie. I visited the guys to see how things were going and enjoyed watching them look it up on the internet and tie all sorts of different “looks”, but not quite what was needed for a wedding day. They had to visit the front desk where a kind hostess helped them tie their windsor knots to perfection. Then Derek saw his bride for the first time…that was really sweet. Sara surprised Derek with one of Jack’s antique cars. Derek was happy to ride around (in the rain) in style.

This was such a special day…..a beautiful day…one with a great deal of sentiment. You managed to capture the entire day from beginning to end on film. You totally took command of your camera and WOW, the results were fantastic!!!!!!!This is truly a love story that unfolds in front of my eyes every time I view them. Thank you Jennifer.

So it isn’t everyday that I have a post related to MY FAMILY when it comes to weddings and engagements. My baby brother is getting married to Karen, a pretty awesome girl. Joe and Karen met at the U of W at Milwaukee. Joey proposed to Karen at my parent’s house using a guitar case he bought for a guitar Karen’s mom once played. They are two pretty special people and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Karen into our family. I was 17 when Joseph was born and can remember the day quite vividly as someone sent me flowers (in high school) at the school office and when I got to the hospital later that night there he was with a MASSIVE HEAD OF HAIR. Oh if only I could have been a professional photographer then and captured that crazy haired little boy. I was taking pictures at that time and do have some awesome ones of him that I’ll post a bit later. I really love how my brother is himself around Karen. I can’t wait to watch the two of you grow in your relationship. Congratulations!

We shot in Wisconsin (of course!) so there was snow (yes, this was in late March, surprise). It was a nice visit and Wisconsin is beautiful despite being in the frozen tundra. My family home has about 5 acres of wooded, snowy wonder. Many memories have been made back there. It was a great joy to capture them even though it was freezing cold.
