Erin and Nate

I knew of Erin years before she walked into my studio because my daughter, Annie, and I read an article about her in Indianapolis Woman and were so touched by her story that we both cried and felt so inspired by how amazing and beautiful she is inside and out. Erin lost an arm and an eye in a bombing 20 years ago and has gone on to become a physical therapist specializing in peds rehab. You can imagine how special I felt when Erin asked me to capture her wedding day. After meeting Nate I realized that not only is Erin amazing, but Nate is a VERY special and kind person. They are going to do many great things in this world.
Spending a year planning and getting to know Erin and Nate and their families I consider them not only clients, but true friends. Every part of their day was full of personality and genuine moments. I love you guys (and Mo, Kevin, Meg, Buddy, MaryAnn….). So many great friends and family they have! I can’t wait for the babies:))patterson-0227Meg was the best bridesmaid.  She has a sweetness about her and such love for her sister.  Erin and Meg truly are the best of friends and I wish I had a sister like Meg!!

Mo having a moment reflecting on her baby girl. One of the things I loved most about Erin and Nate’s day was how happy everything was and then how just the right look or reflection would spark a few tears.  Life can be humbling at times, but it is how we handle our challenges that speaks volumes of our character.  A lot of character in these two families!

blog_pattersonblog_patterson2pattersonfavs-0012So remember that crazy World Series this fall?  Erin and Nate have really good connections…game ball SIGNED and delivered as a wedding gift from a friend who works for the team.  He caught the redeye and made it to the wedding!
